“California Dream” Louis Vuitton Cologne Perfumes Collection
What does California smell like? Introducing citrus musk ‘California Dream’ by Louis Vuitton.
When Louis Vuitton reintroduced their perfume line in 2016, we knew perfumes and the perfume travel cases would be an integral part of any future collaboration with artists.
Following the collaboration with L.A. artist Alex Israel on ArtyCapucines 2019, the house introduced “Alex Israel for Les Colognes Perfumes” shortly after, and today, a new follow-up to the sun-drenched perfume collection.
“California Dream” is the latest member of the California-inspired Les Colognes line. If you’re not familiar with this collection, it was originally a trio of citrus EDP with cologne-like scents: the tropical “Cactus Garden”, orange blossom musk “Sun Song” and the aquatic “Afternoon Swim”.
The new musky “California Dream” by in-house Master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud celebrates the L.A. sunset in the form of warm oriental notes which contains mandarin, ambrette and benzoin.
Of course, the bottle part of the perfume is where the artist shines. By using Israel’s iconic “Sky Backdrop” painting from 2013 as the main inspiration, the “California Dream” is housed in a beautiful translucent bottle with a tint of cotton candy purple-pink gradient.
Does the collection smells like L.A.? Well, We can only tell by sampling it.
